Hello everyone, I'll try to make this topic as short as possible, you are more than welcome to share your opinion with me :)
I like rpg maker games, i really like them especially the horror ones like mad father and the crooked man and the witch's house, so i saw this application and gave it a try, unfortunately most of the games didn't work so i downloaded a bunch of rpg maker games (vx ace and vx and xp) and tried to summarize the reason behind this, I am not good at programming so i might be wrong but i tried my best.
I came up with 3 reasons :
First : the custom fonts
Sometimes when the game maker wants to make his game more fancier, he adds custom fonts either in a compressed file or in a ttf ( true type font format) and this what cause the problem with the error message on the load screen, the labels won't load and the game will crash
For example : Dear Red
How to fix it? Simply make the emulator support custom fonts and most of the games will work especially the games made with vx ace
Second problem : the custom textures loading problem where the screen turns yellow or red and none of the textures will show
For example : Full circle ( i can't really remember the exact name)
How to fix it? I actually am bad at programming so i don't know how to ":)
Third problem : the game works and everything is fine but the font is too large that you can't read it and i think this is a common problem where the custom fonts won't load so it loads the default font but his default size is really big
Example : Pocket mirror
How to fix it? We need the programmer to make a default font with a good size and when the game fonts don't load it loads the default one in the emulator with no problems
I think those are the most common and not all of the problems so yeah.
I know that this app is still in its early stages but i really want it go get better and better and one day it'll run all of the rpg maker games.
